PA Big Mock
Featuring 200 high-yield questions divided into four papers, the BIG MOCK is designed to help you assess your readiness for the Physician Associate Registration Assessment (PARA). All questions are exclusive to the BIG MOCK and are not available in the Question Bank.
The BIG MOCK costs £30 and remains available for six months from the date of purchase. You do not need an active subscription to access it.
The BIG MOCK is best attempted towards the end of your preparation for the Knowledge-Based Assessment (KBA). It covers a broad range of topics, including areas you may be familiar with and others you may feel less prepared for. This reflects the breadth of knowledge that may be tested in the KBA and helps you identify any remaining gaps before the examination.
We recommend completing each paper under timed conditions. This will help you experience the time pressure of answering 50 questions within one hour and develop an effective examination technique.
How does the BIG MOCK differ from the actual KBA?
The BIG MOCK is presented in a continuous, PDF-style format. You scroll down the page to work through the questions.
The actual PA KBA is delivered through the Orzone examination software. It comprises four one-hour papers, each containing 50 questions. Questions are displayed individually, and you press “Next question” to proceed. The examination software also includes a question navigation matrix and a bookmarking function.
How does the BIG MOCK differ from our usual timed mocks?
Our usual timed mocks therefore provide a closer representation of the onscreen navigation used in the actual KBA. However, the BIG MOCK serves a different purpose: it is designed to reflect the overall difficulty and expected scoring of the KBA as closely as possible.
Although all our mocks (BIG MOCKS and timed mocks) are written at KBA level, the usual timed mocks select questions randomly from different categories. As a result, some attempts may be easier or more difficult than others.
We review the difficulty of the BIG MOCK using voluntary, anonymised feedback from candidates who have subsequently taken the KBA. This may include their BIG MOCK score, reported KBA score and pass or fail outcome. We use this information to help calibrate the BIG MOCK so that its overall level of difficulty remains broadly comparable with candidates’ experience of the KBA.
