PA exam

The Physician Associate National Examination (PANE) is the only route by which physician associate students demonstrate the necessary skills and knowledge to practise in the UK. Upon passing the examination, physician associates can then be registered on the Physician Associate Managed Voluntary Register (PAMVR).

The examination comprises two components: Knowledge-Based Assessment (KBA) and Objective Structure Clinical Examination (OSCE).

The online 4-hour examination is divided into two 2-hour theory exams taken on the same day. The exam tests four skill areas: diagnosis, investigation, management, and the context of clinical practice. Questions may include images, electrocardiograms and X-rays.

At Plabable for Physician Associates, we focus on high-yield questions written and reviewed by qualified physician associates who have taken the examination, giving you the best opportunity to pass on the first attempt!
